UNICEF Condemns Terrorist Attack on Children in Nigeria

The United Nations has continued to act as if they are unaware of the true nature of the attack against children by terrorist groups in Nigeria.

BTV has reported several times the attack in the middle belt where children have been killed and cut to pieces by the Fulani Herdsmen. The number of children in the Internally Displaced Persons Camps have become worrisome and it becomes so embarrassing that UNICEF did not consider the future of children in middle belt.

However, UNICEF has acknowledged that more than 1,000 children were victims in the Boko Haram cases related cases.

According to report from Nigerian dailies, The United Nations Children’s agency spoke against the activities of Boko Haram insurgence in Nigeria.   The agency said at least 2,295 teachers have been killed and more than 1,400 schools have been destroyed in the conflict launched by the insurgent.

UNICEF said it had documented more than 1,000 verified cases, the first time it had published an estimated tally. But the actual number could be much larger. The United Nations Children’s agency (UNICEF) on Friday, April 13, said Islamist fighters from Nigeria’s Boko Haram group have abducted more than 1,000 children in the northeast since 2013.

UNICEF said: ''Children in northeastern Nigeria continue to come under attack at a shocking scale,” said Mohamed Malick Fall, UNICEF’s Nigeria head.'' According to a report, the agency said it had documented more than 1,000 verified cases, the first time it had published an estimated tally. But the actual number could be much larger.
