Nnamdi Kanu’s Court Update, Court Seating Adjourned To 25th April 2017

Today, 6th of April 2017 saw the trial of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and the other three defendants namely Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi, and Chididebebre Owudiwe as adjourned by Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court on the 20th of March 2017
Recall that on the 20th of March 2017, Justice Binta Nyako reintroduced the motion of witness protection for those that will testify on the 26th of April 2017., a motion which was first introduced on September 2016 by Justice John Tsoho, the previous judge handling the case.

This witness protection according to Justice Binta Nyako was going to be done on the premise of Sharia Law.

Also recall that on the 1st of March 2017, Justice Binta Nyako dropped 6 out of the 11 count charges against Nnamdi Kanu and the other defendants. Some of the charges bothered on management of unlawful society, terrorism and others.

However, IPOB egal team headed by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor filed a motion against the witness protection as some of the charges that would have given credence to the witness protection, example, terrorism have been dropped.

Justice Binta Nyako after the hearing today however, adjourned the case till 26th of April for consideration of the motion filed by the IPOB legal team against the witness protection and Sharia law trial and also for the hearing of bail application of the defendants.
