Reno Omokiri has said that the Nigerian government finally tarnished their image at the international scene when they tagged the Indigenous People of Biafra Terrorist.
Former Special Adviser on New Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri on Sunday said the United States, stance that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is not a terrorist group has exposed the hypocrisy of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
Following the proscription of the group, US had declared that it does not consider the pro-Biafra group as a terrorist organisation.
Similarly, the Senior Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu had declared that Fulani herdsmen are only a gang of criminals and not terrorists while they went ahead and tagged IPOB a terrorists organisation.
In his reaction, Omokri, said “killer herdsmen” deserved the terrorism tag “much more”.
Omokri, in a video on his Facebook, berated the Buhari-led government of ignoring the activities of the herdsmen “identified as terrorists by the US and the UK”, while going after IPOB for agitating for Biafra.
The former Presidential aide said while the global terrorism index rank herdsmen as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the whole world, IPOB “is not even featured in the index, yet our government calls them terrorists”.
He said, “The herdsmen who are considered terrorists by the US, the UK, the European Union and even the World Economic Forum are not considered terrorists by the Nigerian government. But the people who are not considered terrorists by these countries and groups are the ones the Nigerian government is considering as terrorists.
