In another horrible attack in Benue, Fulani Herdsmen killed a man and his son and removed their vital organs in Agatu Local government.
This follows the order of a new method of attacks by the Fulani Herdsmen, where they now target families. Last Wednesday, it was in Mbiya village in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba state that Fulani Herdsmen accosted a family of four and wiped them out.
BTV had brought the report of a man identified as Sunday Sabo, his wife, and two children were all shot dead by the Herdsmen who attacked them in their home while they were asleep.
According to local residents, the murder of the four by the herdsmen took the community by surprise as the AK-47-wielding Fulani Herdsmen escaped immediately after the attack before the natives could gather themselves.
The herdsmen were said to have invaded the farming community around 1 am on Wednesday when most of the inhabitants were asleep.
The attack on Benue where Herdsmen have slaughtered Mr. Andrew Ataboh and his son at Innahim farm settlement, and removed their vital organs heightened tensions in the community.
A resident of the area, who gave his name as Agaba, said the herdsmen, after several machetes cuts, the father and son died, the Herdsmen removed their vital organs and dumped their bodies in the bush.
The attack came barely one week after residents of the area cried out over invasion on their community by heavily armed herdsmen.
It could be noted that the attack by Fulani Herdsmen affected more than 10,000 pupils in January alone and with the rising numbers of attacks in Benue state since the be beginning the year, the attacks on families with children in farming communities have become a challenge the international community must confront.
