Nigeria, by many is a country that celebrates mediocrity and targeted a particular people for destruction as seen in her activities and mode of governance. However, few worried people are asking, have the media joined the Nigerian Government on the suppression mission of the Igbo who are predominantly Christians from Biafra Land which is presently under occupation by Nigeria.
Recently, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, was honoured by UN Foundation during her 75TH Anniversary as a Global Leader. In a statement culled from a UN foundation website, which reads:
The United Nations Foundation will honor global leaders including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Mary Robinson at its annual awards ceremony tonight. On the eve of the United Nations’ 75th anniversary, this year’s ceremony is called We the Peoples to honor the founding ideals and vision articulated in the UN Charter. The honorees – advocates, business leaders, UN humanitarian workers, and more – strive for a more equitable and sustainable world.
The United Nations Foundation acts as a strategic partner to help the United Nations mobilize the ideas, people, and resources it needs to drive global progress and tackle urgent challenges. We focus on issues at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goals, build initiatives across sectors to solve problems at scale, and engage citizens who seek action. Founded in 1998 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner, the UN Foundation works with philanthropic, corporate, government, and individual partners.
Its so unfortunate that none of Nigerian Media outfit deemed it fit to publish this news. The reason for such negeligience is not far-fetched considering the trends of events in Nigeria as it concerns Igbos who are part of Biafra Nation. Recall that almost all the killings of IPOB by Nigeria combined team of Armed Forces, the raping, killings and unlawful grabbing of Indigenious Lands by Fulani Terrorist Herdsmen who are the fourth most dangerous Terrorist Group in world, are not reported by the Media. The bigger question is, will all these maltreatment stop the Igbos of Biafra from excelling in all fields of human endeavours and academic excellence? The answer is NO.
